Purchase / Upgrading

  • PokerTracker 3 End-of-Life

PokerTracker 3 reached it’s “End-of-Life” on July 31, 2014; this was two years after the release of our current release PokerTracker 4.  When a PokerTracker version reaches the End-of-Life, it means that this version is considered obsolete, the necessary software updates to assure online poker site compliance are no longer offered, and personalized technical support is no longer provided.

  • Do I need to purchase an upgrade to PokerTracker 3?

PokerTracker 3 is no longer available for sale, it has been replaced with PokerTracker 4 which is our next generation tracking and HUD application.

Technical Issues

  • I have installed PokerTracker 3. What is my password?

PokerTracker 3 does not contain a password; however, the PostgreSQL database which is installed does require a password which you are prompted to choose during installation. If you did not select a password then the default password is 'dbpass' (no quotes).

  • What is PostgreSQL and is it required to use PokerTracker 3?

PostgreSQL is an open-source database server which is free to use. It is not owned by PokerTracker Software, LLC. nor have any PokerTracker employee's been involved in the PostgreSQL coding/development. To learn more about PostgreSQL, please visit http://www.postgresql.org.

Yes, PostgreSQL is required to work PokerTracker 3 and will automatically install it for you. PokerTracker stores all of your hands and various stats into your PostgreSQL database for retrieval at a later time therefore PostgreSQL.

  • Stats are slow to retrieve in PokerTracker 3 and/or stats are slow to display/update in the HUD.

Databases grow with the number of hands that are imported and over time performance will start to slow down. It is imperative that you frequently run PokerTracker 3's Housekeeping via Database->Housekeeping. We recommend that you:

    • CLUSTER: Every 50,000 - 100,000 hands
    • VACUUM: Every 10,000 - 20,000 hands (same time as analyze)
    • ANALYZE: Every 10,000 - 20,000 hands (same time as vacuum)
    • UPDATE CACHE: Every 25,000 - 50,000 hands

Performing the above housekeeping on a regular basis will keep PokerTracker operating at its fastest possible performance.

PokerTracker 4 automates database maintenance for our users, we highly recommend that all PokerTracker 3 users switch to PokerTracker 4 for this and many other reasons.

  • What is my PostgreSQL password?

Your PostgreSQL password was chosen when you initially installed PostgreSQL (whether by the PT3 installer or manual installation).

If you did not change the default PT3 installer password for PostgreSQL then it is 'dbpass' (no quotes).

If 'dbpass' does not work or you do not remember the password that you created, you can configure PostgreSQL to not require a password:

Registration

  • How much does PokerTracker 3 cost?

PokerTracker 3 is no longer available for sale, it has been replaced with PokerTracker 4 which is our next generation tracking and HUD application.

  • Can I install PokerTracker on more than one computer?

Yes, your PokerTracker 3 registration code is good for use on two separate computers. You should use the same registration code on both computers.

  • Can I install PokerTracker on a Virtual Machine / Windows emulator?

Yes. However, each virtual machine installation counts as one of your two usages per registration code regardless if they are on the same physical computer.

If you install PokerTracker on your computer then install it on a virtual machine on the same computer this would count as the maximum of two allowed usages per registration code.

  • I have reinstalled PokerTracker 3 and need a new registration code.

You should continue using the same registration code that was initially provided to you. If you no longer have the email with your registration code and are registered on the PokerTracker website you can view your code directly on the site under My Account -> Registration Codes.

  • Were PokerTracker 3 for Windows and Mac Separate?

With your PokerTracker 3 purchase you received a registration code which will work on both Windows and Mac.

  • I lost my Registration Code

If you are a registered user on the PokerTracker website, you can view your PT3 registration code directly on the site under My Account -> Registration Codes.

If you have not yet registered on the website, please register for an account so that you can view your code on the site as mentioned above.

  • I need a new code

You should use the same PT3 registration code that was initially provided to you and is located directly on the PokerTracker website under My Account -> Registration Codes.

This same code should be used on (up to) two separate computers.

  • I need to completely resinstall PT3

Continue using the same PT3 registration code that was initially provided to you and is located directly on the PokerTracker website under My Account -> Registration Codes. There is no need for a new code.

Please be advised that PokerTracker 3 is no longer supported, we recomend switching to PokerTracker 4 to assure compatability.

  • My PT3 Registration Code is not listed on the site

If your PT3 registration code is not listed on the PokerTracker website under My Account -> Registration Codes then your payment email address does not match your registered website email address and you were not logged into your account when you purchased.

Please 'Proceed' to send us a message with the email address that you used to purchase PokerTracker 3 along with your full real name and we will gladly link it to your account so that you can view your code on the site.

  • My Registration Code does not work

If you receive an "Unable to communicate with registration server" or "Invalid Registration Code" error message then:

    1. Please make sure that you copy/paste the registration code exactly as received. If you are doing this then your registration code is valid. (See #2)
    2. If you are doing #1 above then something is preventing PokerTracker from connecting to the registration server to validate your code. Please add an exception into your firewall to allow PokerTracker.exe Full Internet access. (Simply disabling your firewall may not resolve the issue). For instructions on how to add an exception into your firewall please see the guide linked below:

    Firewall Troubleshooting Guide

  • I need to transfer PT3 to a new computer

Your PT3 registration code is good for use on two separate computers at the same time. You should use the same code on both of your computers. You can then install PT3 on your new computer and continue using the same PT3 registration code that was initially provided to you and is located directly on the PokerTracker website under My Account -> Registration Codes. There is no need for a new code.

Please be advised that PokerTracker 3 is no longer supported, we recomend switching to PokerTracker 4 to assure compatability.
  • I need to transfer my PT3 registration code to another person

PokerTracker 3 registration codes could only be transferred to another person if the code has never been used.  Now that the End of Life for PokerTracker 3 has been reached, your registration code can no longer be transferred.
