  • Upgrade Discounts from PokerTracker 3 to PokerTracker 4
    • If you purchased PokerTracker 3 on or after June 10, 2011, then you will receive an equivalent version upgrade to PokerTracker 4 for free.
    • If you purchased PokerTracker 3 before June 10, 2011, then you will receive a 60% discount on an equivalent version upgrade to PokerTracker 4

    To apply your discount, please add the version of PokerTracker 4 you wish to purchase and proceed through checkout, the discount process will be automated for you based on the purchase date of your existing PokerTracker 3 license.  If you earn a free upgrade to PokerTracker 4 then you must complete the upgrade purchase, but no payment will be required.

  • Upgrade Process from PokerTracker 3 to PokerTracker 4

    To upgrade from PokerTracker 3 to PokerTracker 4 you must be logged into your PokerTracker.com account.  Go to My Account > Order History to view any upgrade discounts that you may qualify for. If you purchased PokerTracker 3 after June 10th 2011 then you are eligible for a free upgrade to the equivalent version of PokerTracker 4.  To receive a free upgrade, you must place the order and proceed through the checkout process as normal – a price of $0.00 will be displayed to confirm that you qualify for the free upgrade. All upgrade discounts will be automatically applied to your purchase prior to checkout.  If you feel you are eligible for an upgrade discount that was not applied, please make sure that all of your prior PokerTracker 3 orders are shown on your Order History page.  If your prior PokerTracker 3 orders are missing, please link your previous orders on that same page to earn your upgrade discount.
     

  • PokerTracker 4 Trial Limitations

    We offer a free 30-day trial for new users to evaluate PokerTracker 4 prior to purchasing.  

    Trial Limitations:

    • The Hud will display “TRIAL: Please Register”, this display can be relocated on the table but the position will reset itself every five minutes and cannot be removed in the trial version.
    • You cannot create or import custom statistics.
    • You cannot search with TableTracker.
    • There is a five second delay with “please register” splash screen at startup and shutdown.

  • PokerTracker 4 Product Names

    PokerTracker has renamed some of its products options.  For instance, the equivalent to the PokerTracker 3 Full Version is now simply named “PokerTracker”.  The equivalent to the PokerTracker 3 Micro Version has been renamed “PokerTracker 4 Small Stakes Edition”.  Along with the name change to “Small Stakes Edition”, we have increased the stakes restrictions to include:

    • Maximum No Limit/Pot Limit Cash Games: .25/.50 Blinds
    • Maximum Limit Cash Games: .50/1.00 Blinds
    • Maximum SNG/Tournaments: 22 buy-in

    *These stake restrictions apply to all game currencies

    No. With your PokerTracker 4 purchase you receive a registration code which will work on both Mac OS X and Windows.

Technical Issues

  • What are the Minimum System Requirements to run PokerTracker 4?

    Computer Hardware

    Minimum Requirement: Windows: Intel Core 2 Duo (or AMD equivalent) processor with 3GB of RAM. Mac: Almost any Mac that runs OS X 10.6 or later released in 2009+ with 3GB of RAM.

    Recommended: Windows: Modern quad-core processor with 4GB of RAM or greater. This includes the Intel Core 2 Quad and Intel Core i3, i5, and i7 processor lines (or their equivalent AMD processors). Mac: Almost any Mac that runs OS X 10.7 or later released in 2011+ with 3GB of RAM.

    Optimal: Windows: Intel Core i5 or i7 multi-core 64-bit processor with 8GB of RAM or greater. Mac: Any Mac released in 2012+ with an SSD hard disk such as the Macbook Pro Retina line of laptops with 8GB of RAM or greater.

    Not Recommended: Windows: Intel Pentium 4, Atom or other low power processors such as ARM.

    Operating System

    Minimum Requirement: Windows: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8. Mac: OS X Snow Lepard 10.6, OS X Lion 10.7,  or OS X Mountain Lion 10.8

    Recommended: Windows: Windows 8, Windows 7 or Windows Vista. Mac: OS X Lion 10.7,  or OS X Mountain Lion 10.8

    Optimal: Windows: Windows 8 64 Bit or Windows 7 64 Bit with PostgreSQL 64 Bit 9.0.x manually installed. Mac: OS X 10.8 with PostgreSQL 64 Bit 9.0.x manually installed

    PostgreSQL

    Minimum Requirement: PostgreSQL 8.3.18 or greater (Windows only) / PostgreSQL 8.4.12 or greater / PostgreSQL 9.0.7 or greater

    Recommended: Manually install the latest version of PostgreSQL 9.0.x

    Optimal: Manually install the 64 Bit version of PostgreSQL 9.0.x.  This requires a 64 bit processor and Operating System, with 8 Gigs or ram or better for optimal performance. 

    Not Supported:  PostgreSQL 9.1.x and 9.2.x are not supported due to potential database errors

    Hard Drive

    The number one factor for speed performance is hard drive speed, the PostgreSQL Server which powers the PokerTracker database commonly moves gigabytes of data to allow PokerTracker 4 to perform it's reporting duties.  PokerTracker recommends at least a 7200RPM hard drive or faster, Solid State Drives (SSDs) are currently the fastest drives available for optimal performance. The optimal solution for Mac users are computers that contains a built in SSD drive such as 2012's Macbook Airs (idealy with 4Gigs Ram or greater) or Macbook Pro Retina laptops.

  • What is PostgreSQL and is it required to use PokerTracker 4?

    PostgreSQL is an open-source database server which is free to use. It is not owned by PokerTracker Software, LLC. nor have any PokerTracker employee's been involved in the PostgreSQL coding/development. To learn more about PostgreSQL, please visit http://www.postgresql.org.

    Yes, PostgreSQL is required to use PokerTracker 4 and it will automatically be installed for you. PokerTracker stores all of your hands and various stats into your PostgreSQL database for retrieval at a later time.

  • What is my PostgreSQL password?

    Your PostgreSQL password was chosen when you initially installed PostgreSQL (whether by the PT4 installer or manual installation).  Most users will find one of these passwords to work:

    • dbpass
    • postgres
    • postgrespass

    If the above passwords do not work or you do not remember the password that you created, you can configure PostgreSQL to not require a password:  How To: Remove PostgreSQL Password

  • Where is my registration code for the free 30 day trial?

  • Can I install PokerTracker 4 on more than one computer?

    Yes, your PokerTracker 4 registration code is good for use on two separate computers. You should use the same registration code on both computers. Additionally, your PokerTracker 4 registration code will work on both Mac OS X and Windows.

  • Can I install PokerTracker 4 on a Virtual Machine / Windows emulator?

    Yes. However, each virtual machine installation counts as one of your two usages per registration code regardless if they are on the same physical computer.

    If you install PokerTracker on your computer then install it on a virtual machine on the same computer this would count as the maximum of two allowed usages per registration code.

  • I have reinstalled PokerTracker 4 and need a new registration code.

    You should continue using the same registration code that was initially provided to you. If you no longer have the email with your registration code and are registered on the PokerTracker website you can view your code directly on the site under My Account -> Registration Codes.

  • I lost my PT4 Registration Code

    If you are a registered user on the PokerTracker website, you can view your PT4 registration code directly on the site under My Account -> Registration Codes.

    If you have not yet registered on the website, please register for an account so that you can view your code on the site as mentioned above.

  • I need a new PokerTracker 4 code

    You should use the same PT4 registration code that was initially provided to you and is located directly on the PokerTracker website under My Account -> Registration Codes.

    This same code should be used on (up to) two separate computers.

  • I need to completely reinstall PT4

    Continue using the same PT4 registration code that was initially provided to you and is located directly on the PokerTracker website under My Account -> Registration Codes. There is no need for a new code.

  • My PT4 Registration Code is not listed on the site

    If your PokerTracker 4 registration code is not listed on the PokerTracker website under My Account -> Registration Codes then your payment email address does not match your registered website email address and you were not logged into your account when you purchased.

    Please proceed to send us a message with the email address that you used to purchase PokerTracker 4 along with your full real name and we will gladly link it to your account so that you can view your code on the site.

  • My Registration Code does not work

    If you receive an "Unable to communicate with registration server" or "Invalid Registration Code" error message then:

    1. Please make sure that you copy/paste the registration code exactly as received. If you are doing this then your registration code is valid. (See #2)
    2. If you are doing #1 above then something is preventing PokerTracker from connecting to the registration server to validate your code. Please add an exception into your firewall to allow PokerTracker4.exe Full Internet access. (Simply disabling your firewall may not resolve the issue).   • I need to transfer PT4 to a new computer

    Your PT4 registration code is good for use on two separate computers at the same time. You should use the same code on both of your computers. If you purchase a new computer, completely uninstall PokerTracker 4 from your old computer. You can then install PT4 on your new computer and continue using the same PT4 registration code that was initially provided to you and is located directly on the PokerTracker website under My Account -> Registration Codes. There is no need for a new code.

  • I need to transfer a PT4 code to another person

    PokerTracker 4 registration codes can only be transferred to another person if the code has never been used. If the code has not been used then please proceed to send us a message with the following information:

    1. Your full real name
    2. Your email address
    3. Their full real name
    4. Their email address

    We will then transfer the code into their name and email address. Once transferred a copy of the order confirmation containing their PT4 registration code will be sent to them via email.

  • I purchased PT4 and there is no where to enter my code.

    If you were using a pre-commercial release version of PokerTracker 4 then PT4 is still registered using your PT4 pre-commercial release beta code and that code will need to be removed, via the instructions below, before you will be able to enter your purchased PT4 code:

    1. Open PT4 and go "File" -> "Open User Data Directory" and a folder will open pointing to your PokerTracker 4 data directory.
    2. Double-click your "Config" folder
    3. Right-click the file named "PokerTracker" or "PokerTracker.cfg" and select "Open with..." and then choose "Notepad" and click OK.
    4. Locate the line in this file under [General] that begins with "RegistrationCode=[YOUR PRE-RELEASE CODE]".
    5. Delete everything after the equals sign so that the line only shows "RegistrationCode=".
    6. Go File -> Save
    7. Restart PokerTracker 4 and you will now be prompted to enter your registration code. Enter your PT4 registration code received after purchase and PT4 will display as registered to your name and email address

    In order to avoid from having to replace your registration code, if your PT4 pre-release beta code is still active and you purchase through the "PokerTracker Community" inside of PT4 it will automatically switch your pre-release beta code to a purchased code and no further steps would be required.

Miscellaneous

  • Is PokerTracker 4 available for Mac OS X?

    Yes, PokerTracker 4 is available for both Mac OS X and Windows operating systems.   The features available are the same in the Mac OS X version with some small exceptions. Each feature listed below is not available in the Mac version of PokerTracker due to the OS X operating system's security policies. 

    1. The HUD cannot be displayed at PokerStars Zoom tables *
    2. The HUD cannot be displayed at Full Tilt Poker Rush tables *
    3. The HUD cannot be displayed at Party Poker Fast Forward tables *
    4. Tables cannot be automatically opened in TableTracker

    * The HUD can only be placed at the table when PokerTracker 4 has knowledge of each player seated at the table, at normal tables we gain this information from the completion of the prior hand but this is not possible at Fast Fold games such as Zoom because the players change after the end of each hand.  PokerTracker 4 for Windows is able to address this problem by gaining player names through the help of the Windows operating system, but there is no equivalent method on the Mac OS X operating system due to differences in security policies.   PokerTracker 4 can support OnGame's new STROBE Fast Fold game format because OnGame provides the opponent names and seating positioning along with the hand history file, this is necessary for us to support Zoom, Rush, or Fast Forward tables in OS X.   Mac users are advised to play at OnGame's STROBE tables if they wish to play at Fast Fold tables with PokerTracker 4. 

  • How do I configure PT4 to work with my poker site

    There are very good, site specific, configuration guides available which provide step-by-step instructions on how to configure PT4 with your site.

  • Does PokerTracker 4 support Omaha?

    Yes. PokerTracker 4 supports both Holdem and Omaha. For convenience, both Holdem and Omaha are in the same PokerTracker 4 application; however, they are separate purchases.

    PokerTracker 4 does not support the new 5 Card Omaha games such as the one launched by PokerStars in the Winter on 2012.

  • Why doesn't the HUD appear at Zoom tables in Mac OS X?
