  • I just installed PTS - where do I begin?

Most of the basic information you need to know about PTS can be found from the PTS menu - Help/Getting Started. Other great sources of information are of course here at the Poker Tracker Forums and other poker forums like:

    http://bet-the-pot.com/forum/
    http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com

Note: We highly recommend installing and trying the evaluation version on any Poker Tracker product before purchasing.

  • Can you explain the sample auto-rate rules?

People have made note of the fact that the sample auto-rating rules are not very useful in PTS. This is because these rules are only meant to be an example of what you can do. The reason for this is that I am not an expert at 7 Card Stud, so I would not pretend to give any of you advice on rating other players. That said, if any of you out there develop a great rule set for either Stud Hi, Hi/Lo or Razz and wouldn't mind sharing it with the user community, please export and send it to me. I would very much like to include it as the new sample rules.

  • Why are my PokerRoom sessions at the same table split?

PokerRoom seat numbering in Stud games is not consistent. They still use numbers 1 through 10 to represent the eight stud seats and randomly insert two or more gaps in the numbers depending on how many players are at the table. PTS has to convert these to seats 1 through 8, but because players come and go during a session the gaps change and therefore your seat numbers may also change. Since the seat number is a key factor in determining a session, your sessions may be split into smaller sessions at the same table and time. I am going to continue to try to find a better solution to this, but for now this is the best I can do.

  • Where are the player's up cards at Party?

Party Poker 7 Card Stud games stored on the hard drive do not show other player's dealt cards on each street for some reason. I sent Party an email on this and they said that the hard drive hand histories were "quick hands" and to see everything I would need to get the emailed version of the hands. I'm hoping that if enough people email them about this issue they will change the hard drive hand histories to include this crucial information when using the Party auto-import window.

The Party emailed hand format can still be imported, however, and these hand histories DO show the dealt cards on 3rd through 6th streets.

  • How are bring-ins and double bets handled?

Bring In bet amounts are stored separately in the database but are considered to be part of the total amount bet on 3rd street. If a bring-in player decides to complete the bet instead of just bringing in, the amount bet is not stored in the bring in column but it is included as part of the total bet on 3rd street. A completed bet will be recorded as a raise on 3rd street.

Likewise, a double bet on 4th street is also considered to be a raise on 4th street.
