Disk Space per 1 million hands?

Postby PokerChris » Mon Sep 01, 2008 5:48 pm

Hi,

does anybody know how much postgresql disk space is needed per one million hands (with text hand history storing enabled)?
I am mostly talking about the c:\program files\PostgreSQL\8.3\data folder.

Has the needed disk space amount increased/decreased in relation to PT2?

Yes, the storage space has increased because PT3 stores a lot more information about each hand than PT2.
Someone did work out a rough MB/mill hands, but I can't remember what the figure was - I'm sure someone will let you know.

Hi, I've got a database with 8.3mio hands and it's size is 43,5 GB, so in my case I need some 5.2GB per 1mio hands.
I vacuumed is recently.
Wow, and the stat how much rake the poker site cashed in during these hands makes me dissy...

Thank you for your answer. WOW, never thought it is that much. So I should buy a new hard disk before starting the database. And it should be a big one :)
