slow import speeds because of duplicates

Postby EB1983 » Tue Mar 25, 2008 6:20 pm

PT3 seems to identify a great portion of my hand histories as duplicates which reduces the import speed a lot. At this point, after 30 minutes of importing, PT3 already has identified 40k hands as duplicates. Is this normal?

Manual or auto-import?

Are you moving your processed files?

This is why - you need to tell PT3 to move the processed files.
On the auto-import tab, there is a section marked Processed Files, configure this.
Make sure (for now) you keep these files as it will make things much simpler if a future beta release requires a new database and re-import.

I don't think that's the problem. PT3 doesn't move the files during a manual import. It only moves the files during an auto import??

PT3 is checking each duplicate hand against the information in the database. If the newer version of the hand has more information (played hand vs observed hand), it replaces the existing data.

It's best to not import files you've already imported.

It's an empty database...

Are you sure? It doesn't just look empty because it hasn't been refreshed?
How did you get the empty database?
Are you sure the correct DB is active?

I'm sure. I even reproduced the problem.

- First I create a new database
- Set it to 'default' and 'active'
- manual import HH from directory

OK, that's wierd.
I'd suggest submitting one of the HH files that causes this problem (zipped) to a [url=http://www.pokertracker3.com/support/0ia]support ticket[/url0ia] so that they can investigate it.
