New Release: 3.00 build 3

Postby Josh » Mon Sep 29, 2008 7:02 pm

There have been numerous features added to PokerTracker 3 since build 2 was released. Here's a list of the notable ones:

TableTracker: PokerStars support, a buddy list, automated site launching and table opening.
Caching of stats, which makes the Hud much faster and more responsive.
    OnGame Hud support.
    Auto-Rating
That is by no means a comprehensive list. There were numerous smaller features added. A more complete list can be found by reading through the beta release threads.

In addition to the new features, there were a large number of bugs fixed, and they are the primary reason for the length of time between build 2 and build 3. We wanted to clear up most of the bugs before releasing another stable release. Unfortunately, it took much longer than we had originally anticipated, but now we're here and we're excited to be releasing a new stable build. The list of bugs fixed is too long to include here (again, you can find them in the beta release threads), but the major problems with the Hud have been mostly resolved. We appreciate those of you who have waited patiently while we worked on the issues you were having. Thanks go out to you and others who have submitted log files and worked with our support team to make PT3 better for everyone.

A note to those of you still encountering performance problems with the Hud. We've added a new option for you. In the Hud Options, there is now a setting labeled "Performance Level." We found that some computers require different changes in order to perform as desired. If you are experiencing lag while you play, try changing this option. Most people who try a different setting find one that works well with their computer.

The Future

So where does PT3 go from here? Our main priority right now is adding functionality that PT2 has that PT3 doesn't. We're currently giving away free copies of PT2 and PA Hud to new PT3 owners who require functionality that PT2 has that PT3 doesn't, but we know that's not good enough. Now that our focus has moved from bug fixing to new features, you will see these changes happening very quickly. It's taken us longer than we hoped to get the features added, but again, we appreciate those of you who have helped out and been patient.

Up until now, TableTracker has been a free service to everyone who purchased PT3. We've improved the functionality of TableTracker, adding a buddy list and automated table opening features and will be adding custom table ranking abilities in the near future. We'll be switching over from a free service to a subscription service in the coming week. New PT3 purchases will come with a free trial of TableTracker. Those of you who have owned a PT3 license for a while will need to sign up for a subscription if you wish to continue using it. We will have subscription information available soon on the TableTracker webpage.

Keep your eyes on the development timeline to keep up with what we're doing as far as bug fixes and new features go. We'll try to keep it updated as we work through the new features.

Thanks again for your support. Please let us know if you have any problems, questions or comments regarding the new release.

Just a few minor bug fixes as well as the few items listed in the first post of this thread.
To get the full change list since Build 2, check the release notes history: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=6548

PokerStars TableTracker only uses local data, right? Does that mean stars players do not have to pay a Table Tracker subscription?

That is incorrect. PokerStars in TableTracker uses our servers just like the other sites.

Can you explain how TableTracker behaves differently with PokerStars and what role the server plays?

TableTracker retrieves live information about the available tables and players direct from the poker sites via the PT/TT servers, and then retrieves stats from your local database for those tables/players. This is the same for all sites.

As it says in the release notes - different settings work better on different computers, so if you have problems with HUD performance, then experiment with the other settings. If one or other works better, please let us know.
