getting "unable to connect" for Postgres

hi i just re-downloaded PT3 after trying out holdem manager for a while but for some reason i keep getting the following error for postgres

'unable to connect to this database please check configuration"

i have since closed the error message and now i am unable to open PT3 again because it says there is already a version of PT3 running?

any help?

sorry didnt see the sticky thread, followed the re-instsall and all good now.

Press ctrl+alt+del and click Task Manager. On the Processes tab locate and end any PokerTracker.exe processes you may find. Restart PT3 and try using the password 'postgrespass' (no quotes) and see if that works for you.
