Would you see this for submitting a ticket:
http://www.pokertracker.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=20464Enable logging and go through the steps which initiate/remove the gray box and return both log files. A screenshot or two may also help.
In the ticket please include details such as the gray box does/does not go away at any point by itself, changes you've made recently that may be contributing to this (hardware, drivers, new utilities, etc.) and any other observations you have about the problem.
