Just submitted the ticket.

I'm virtually certain I've done something wrong with it, but cut me some slack, I'm working way beyond my computer skills here.

Thanks for the help

is it ok to make following steps in this order?

-making a full PT3 backup (via File - Backup) now with 30.3
-uninstall PostgreSQL 8.3.0
-install PostgresSQL 8.4.2-1 (or should i go with your suggestion 8.3.9-1)
-update PT3 to 30.4 tommorow
-restore from "PT3 backup"
-full Housekeeping

In my personal opinion:
-making a full PT3 backup (via File - Backup) now with 30.3
-no uninstalling
-install PostgresSQL 8.3.9-1
-update PT3 to 30.4 right now!
-no restoring needed
-Housekeeping: Vacuum/Analyze "now"
-Housekeeping: Vacuum/Analyze/Cache/Cluster overnight after ruuuuush

I apologize for forgetting the shutdown feature after cache/cluster. I'll get the log rotation code in and then add that. (Otherwise you'll have no idea if it completed or not. )

If you are going to upgrade to PostgreSQL 8.4 I would wait until you have some time and patience and everything else is working correctly. Upgrading it while trying to get Rush and Beta 30.4 working is risky to me.

Backing up databse...

Checking disk space needed for backup...OK
Starting Backup...
Creating temporary folder
-------------------
Databases
-------------------
Database:PokerTracker 3 Database...file size: 8.753GB...Success.

Does the "Success" mean it's finished?

The blue boxes are still scrolling across and my pc is still grinding away as if it's doing something, ...but nothing seems to have changed from the box I copied that info from in at least 5 minutes now.

please give it some time to zip up that big database. We'll have better backup/restore feedback in future revisions.

Do you have McAfee installed on your computer? If so, you'll need to disable "Auto Protect" / "Real Time Protection" along with "SystemGuards" until McAfee is able to update their virus definitions.

Unfortunately McAfee does not provide any method to add an exception to mark these files to not be scanned and due to the false positives they are generating, McAfee is removing necessary files from your computer.

Once you disable the above settings, reinstall PT3 and the issue should be resolved.
