Xp, MS anti spyware

This log was created during install. I had pt3, but not the new build. Please advise

initdb: directory "C:/Program Files/PostgreSQL/8.3/data" exists but is not empty
If you want to create a new database system, either remove or empty
the directory "C:/Program Files/PostgreSQL/8.3/data" or run initdb
with an argument other than "C:/Program Files/PostgreSQL/8.3/data".

Uncheck the "initialize database" checkbox when installing the PostgreSQL upgrade and that should fix it for you.

sorry forgot a step.. I had to uninstall pt3 and postgre and start fresh with the new build. There are program files in postgre 8.3/data, should I delete it all including pt3 and start fresh?

If you do that, you will lose your data that you've imported into your database and you would need to reimport all of your old hands. If you just uncheck the "Initialize Database" checkbox on reinstallation, it should reconnect to the database you were using previously without any problems.

I"ve read over this, I am not sure what stage my installation is at. I installed pt3 then it prompted me to install postgre. It installed some files then failed. Do I* start over?

Yes, I would suggest following the guide from the start - it takes you through everything you need to do.
