If you click Start --> Control Panel --> Administration Tools --> Event Viewer and click on the Applications section in the top left pane, do you see any errors relating to PostgreSQL in the middle pane? If so, what do they say?

That does not matter - that error likely means now that the password you are using to attempt to connect is the problem - you can set PostgreSQL to ignore the password by following the tutorial here:

Then you should be able to connect successfully.

Hi there,
I installed the poker tracker and tried the other password but it didn't work.
I went to start and wrote services and in the list there wasn't the postgresql in the list.

I dunno what's happening with my pc.

It sounds like PostgreSQL isn't installed - follow our either of ouruninstall/reinstall guides available here to get things installed. PostgreSQL needs to be installed and functioning in order for PokerTracker to work properly.

I'm currently using Pokertracker3 and it's working fine.

I downloaded PT4 to try the trial but I cant enter the software it keeps telling me ; Unable to connect to this database. Please check the configuration.

I'm using postgre Version 9.0

I tried to change the password to postgrespass but it isnt working for me...

I"m out of option...

Open this file (e.g. in Notepad):

C:\Program Files (x86)\PokerTracker 3\Data\Config\PokerTracker.cfg

..and find the [Database] section.
The PostgreSQL details that PT3 is using are listed there - use the same information in PT4.

Try using the password:
postgrespass

That is the default password used when PostgreSQL is installed by HM.
