database cluster initialisation failed

Postby trenchtown » Wed Jul 31, 2013 11:18 am

Hi,

First of all i apologize for my english....i'm french.

I buy PT4 any stakes and i have problems installing postgreSQL and i need help.

I've download and installed Version 9.0.13 of postgrSQL (win86-32). No modification in the setup.

I enter the password "dbpass" twice.Port:5432 and default locale.

At the end of the setup this message appears "problem running post-install step. Installation may not complete correctly. The database cluster initialisation failed."

When i run PT4 i have this message "unable to login to database (Postgres) - reason:could not connect to server:connection refused(0x0000274D/10061) Is the server running on host "???" and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 5432?

Before buying PT4 definitively, i had PT3 and PT4 trial version. I've uninstaled both of them.

I've windows 8.

Thank you four your help

Firstly, there is no need to uninstall anything before updating to a new version of PokerTracker, and it can cause complications.
Did you also uninstall PostgreSQL? If so, follow the guides here to do a full uninstall and reinstall.

Otherwise..
That error means the installation did not complete properly. Please try uninstalling and reinstalling PostgreSQL to a new folder on the root of your C drive (such as "C:\PostgreSQL") and that may fix things for you. (taken from this thread)
