Postgres password change

I had to change the password for my PostgresSQL. When I logged into PT3 after doing so, I gave it the new password, but now it's giving me errors saying it can't access the my database. It set up a new database just fine, but I can't get into all my hand histories.

Go into Database -> Database Management and choose your old database and click Remove and say OK. Then click New and Browse Databases. Use the proper credentials and you should be able to select your old database and Connect to it and everything should be fine after that.

When I click browse databases, it says:

Unable to login to database (template1). Reason FATAL: password authentication failed for user "postgres"
