You need to set the database to be Active before you start the restore.

What i did and it seems working.
I did a backup for all the database (backup databases/ tick Backup Database), the aggragated notes, the buddies.

Cause if i dont'do backup the database, nothing appears in the database restore part.

Just another question :
Can i use the backup/ Restore option to have my two computers synchronised ? or do i need to do the Tutorial: synchronizing database ?

If you click File -> Backup and File -> Restore you should be able to back up those things that aren't your database as well.

You can certainly use backups and restores to synchronize your database, just be aware that as your database gets larger the time to backup and restore will continue to grow - at some point you may want to move to bringing over hand histories and reimporting as it will likely be faster eventually.

If you're trying to move notes from one database to another then you don't need (or want) to back up the original database - just backup the notes.

Right, the notes will be merged into the databases you have on that machine. That's what should be happening.

BACKUP

- Set database A active.
- Make a note on a player (e.g. on the Cash Games > General tab by clicking Edit in the Notes section).
- File > Backup.
- Tick database A on the left, the database with the notes you want to transfer.
- Enable the "Aggregated Notes" option and ucheck all the other options.
- Click "Backup Now", choose a filename and note where you save it.
- Copy the file to your other computer, or save it on the network, or whatever.

RESTORE

- Set database B, where you want to copy the notes to as Active.
- File > Restore
- Select your backup file.you saved
- Aggregated Notes option should be enabled, with everything else greyed out (if notes was the only thing you saved).
- Click Restore Now.
- Click "Yes" to the "Merge aggreaged notes into active database?" prompt.
- Check the Status window to see if it worked.
- Click Close.
- Click Refresh.
- View the player you added the note to and you should see your note.

I just did exactly that..

Hi

I'm trying to make a new database, with only hands from 1 site(the old DB was growing too large and slow and I had hands from sites I dont use anymore), so I eksported all my hands and manuelly importet all the hands from the site I want to use into a new DB.

Then I did exactly what you discribed above and was asked to merge.

But there was not any notes and the result said that (0 notes merged of 1838)

Can I do something else with the new update or?

I believe Beta 30.9 may help - please give it a try restoring in Beta 30.9 and see if that works better for you.

There is a problem with restoring notes in 30.9 - I'm not sure of the details but I know that it's being fixed now.
