Rename ptracko.mdb to ptrack_bad.mdb, then rename ptracko_backup.mdb to ptracko.mdb

That should fix it. I don't know why, but sometimes (rarely) Vista causes issues with compacting databases. Just make sure you are always running the PTO and all poker programs as administrator.

I don't know how you have Vista set up but you need to be able to access that folder. See if your Vista help tells you a way to have more control over your computer's folders. You need to be running all program as administrator.

I am having the same problem after I tried compacting my database. There was not a Ptracko.mdb file so I renamed the backup file but it still doesn't work. It now says unrecognized database format:
now what should I do?

What version of PTO are you using?

My backup had 0mb and ptracko.mdb wasn't there so just downloaded that link you posted in a different thread and started a new database. I didn't have many hands so it wasn't a big deal.

OK, I'd still like to know why that is still happening though. Version 1.13.03 forces you to run the program as administrator. Previously people who did NOT run the program as administrator would occasional have this issue when they compacted. I'm just trying to figure out under what circumstance it still happens if it is still happening with version 1.13.03.
