Problem interpreting Steps

Postby Gato_Vago » Mon Aug 10, 2009 3:13 pm

Before posting I did a search about satellite or steps in the forum, finding nothing relevant to my question. So, here it goes.

As you should know Steps is a modality at Poker Stars. I just played one and won one ticket to step 2. The tourney total fee was $7.00+$.050, which is recorded in the database. Price of the ticket of Step 2 is 27.00.

The structure was: 1st and 2nd places won 1 ticket to Step 2, with a $27.00 value. 3rd place won a seat to Step 1 -recovers his $7.50 entry- and 4rd place collected $1.50.

Neither of this is reflected in the database thu. I finished 2nd, but the winner appears to be other player, but he is not credited with neither a seat or the $27.00, while the other players appear as losers. So, the results are not accurate.

Now, the tournament summary is this, not a standard satellite format since no target tourney is mentioned, so I can figure what the problem is.

PokerStars Tournament #186074522, Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo
Buy-In: $7.00/$0.50 USD
9 players
Tournament started 2009/08/10 9:46:39 CT [2009/08/10 10:46:39 ET]
Tournament finished 2009/08/10 10:32:56 CT [2009/08/10 11:32:56 ET]
1: Place1 (Maassluis), Tournament Ticket (Step 2)
2: Gato_Vago (***), Tournament Ticket (Step 2)
3: Place3 (Seattle), Tournament Ticket (Step 1)
4: Place4 (Borlange), $1.50
5: place5 (Norrtälje),
6: place6 (Snellville),
7: place7 (moncton),
8: place8 (Wien),
9: place8 (Frankfurt),

What can I do manually to modify the data? Is there a patch contemplating these Steps modality for any future update?

Thx for your attention.

The current version of PTO does not support Step tournaments at PokerStars very well obviously. Hopefully PT3 Omaha will allow for these to be imported properly when it is released. (This should be later this year, but I am not involved with this at all so that is all I know at this time).

In the mean time I would just use the tournament results manual entry to change things to make it work the best for you. Maybe check the Satellite box for each time you place well enough to reach the next step? Then enter what would have been the buy-in for that step and the winnings for the players you know about.
