Tutorial: Convert PT2 non PostgreSQL database to PT3

Manually entered tournament results will not transfer doing this process. Your place will, but the payouts (if any) will not. This works perfectly for all cash games supported in PT3, and for tournament hands (but not results).

If you did not convert your PT2 database(s) to PostgreSQL then PT3 cannot read them, and therefore cannot import them directly.
However, the alternative is relatively easy:

  1. Open PT2 and from the drop down menus, choose Utilities -> Export Hand Histories to File.
  2. Click on Browse and create a directory to export your hand history to.
Make sure you know where this is located on your computer so you can find it again for step 3.
Once created and selected, click the Start Export button and wait for your database to be exported to files.
  3. Close PT2 and open PT3.
Under the import tab, click on Manual import.
Click on Import from Directory. Here, find the directory you just saved your hand histories to in PT2 and make sure the Include Sub-Directories option is enabled.
Once you click okay, PT3 will import your hand histories from PT2.
