Can't get PT4 to run

Hi All,

For weeks I've been having issues with PT4 running slow and constantly getting the popup recommending I do housekeeping to speed up database. Despite running the housekeeping steps numerous times, it never worked.

Today PT4 stopped working altogether, so I thought I'd try an uninstall and re-install.

However now I've got an even bigger issue. Can't even run PT4.

I've tried uninstalling PostgresSQL and reinstalling, tried everything I can think of.

Now just get the error: Unable to login too database (Postgres). Reason: connection to server on socket "/tmp/.s.PGSQL.5432" failed: No such file or directory. Is the server running locally and accepting connections on that socket.

I've tried uninstalling everything so many times, now at a complete loss.

Should say its MacOS.

When you reinstalled PostgreSQL did it say it installed successfully or not when the installer finished? If it installed successfully are you using the same port and password in the PokerTracker connection settings that were used for the PostgreSQL install? If the PostgreSQL version number is displayed in the bottom right of the PokerTracker 4 database connection window then PokerTracker 4 should be able to connect with the right settings. Thanks for the reply. Those instructions are for Windows, I am running MacOS.

Those instructions are for both Windows and macOS. If you are having an issue following a specific part of the guide please provide further details about where you are having trouble.

When trying to run the uninstaller it now says I don't have root privileges.

When I run the PostgreSQL installer, it gets to the end then gives the error:
"problem running post-install step. Installation may not complete correctly. The database cluster initialisation failed."

I don't know what could be causing that so please open a Support Ticket where a technician can assist you further.
