Ok the solution is to NOT install PostgreSQL in a Programfiles folder or a windwows folder. Just install it somewhere else on your harddisk.

I tired that installing in its on directory not in programs and then still couldn't connect to server. I uninstalled everything. Tried again and now I am not able to run this is the error message

But gettng error when I try to create unable to creat PostgreSQL database T4 DB. Reason: unable to login to database (template1) Reason: could not connect to server. Connection refused (0x0000274D/10061) is the server running on host "???" and accepting tcp/ip connections on port 5432

Turned off firewall, don't have an anti virus on yet. Not sure to what to do. Not use to windows 8 either

Have you tried installing PostgreSQL manually? If not, let me know whether you have a 32 bit or 64 bit machine and I'll give you the correct direct link.

I am having the same issue with windows 8 , can you mail me the direct link for PostgreSQL, my ticket ID is ticket_id=133267.

Do you have a 32 bit machine or a 64 bit machine? That is important to know before giving you a link.

Firewall and Antivir are swiched off/uninstalled. I don`t know what to do (don`t understand Manii`s solution)

Did you previously have PostgreSQL installed on this computer or is it a new installation?
Did PT4 install it for you or did you install it manually?
Did it ever work?

Press Start and type 'services.msc' and open the Services window - do you see PostgreSQL in the list? Can you start it?
