Has anyone tried putting PT4 on Windows 8? Is it standard for PT to make a new user called postgress?

PT4 works on Windows 8, and the 'postgres' user is created by PostgreSQL and is necessary. Are you having any problems?

I'm not sure yet. I bought a new PC with win 8 on it. I installed PT4 and immediately had problems. However, I troubleshot it with dell, and they said there was a hardware problem...came up in diagnostics. So I took that one back and exchanged it for a new one. I again began with installing PT4, and upon a reboot, windows had serious problems. I again called Dell and we troubleshot it. They said it looked like a windows problem and they're sending me a new windows CD (the hardware passed the diagnostic test that time). So it was just odd that two machines had serious troubles and the only thing i had installed was pt4...so I was checking to see if others had experienced troubles. I'll get this disk in a day or two and see what happens...

We have many users with PT4 and Windows 8 working without problems. I've personally installed PT4 on dozens of Win8 machines now without problems.

Glad to hear it, thanks. Guess I just got two lemons then.
