Been trying to start PT4 today and keep getting this msg.
"Unable to log into database (postgres). Reason: could not connect to server. Connection refused (0x0000274D/10061)
is the server running on host "???" and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 4532?"
with the option to configure defaults or cancel
when i click on configure defaults:
Server: localhost Database user: postgres
Port: 5432 Password: dbpass
with option to connect or cancel
when i hit connect:
"Unable to connect to this database. Please check the configuration"
I dont know if I did something to it or not?? any ideas??

Click Start type services.msc and click on it when it appears. Do you see PostgreSQL in the list? Can you start the service?

Tried it:

respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion"

Don't know what happened, but I did a system restore back to the last data point and pt4 is working fine now.

Something broke your PostgreSQL installation but it sounds like restoring got things working again for you. I recommend taking a backup of your PT database just as a precaution!
