Best performance!?

Postby beast9881 » Thu Feb 20, 2014 5:51 pm

I have a new computer with two ssds and I'm going to install PT4 with a big database on it!
What is the best thing to do to get best performance of PT4?

1. PT4 on 2nd ssd windows on first?
2. both on the same ssd or is there no difference?
3. And are there other things that would be good to get maximum performance?

I don't have personal experience of that but I expect you'd get best PokerTracker performance by installing Windows and PT4 on one SSD and PostgreSQL on the other - PostgreSQL does a lot of disk access and having a drive to itself would optimize that.

Just found this topic...

Tables at ACR poker started to lag when I play 10+ tables. It works fine when I close PT4.

I have 9.0.10 PostgreSQL and I will change it to newer. I have 1 SSD and 1 HDD drive. Should I maybe install PostgreSQL to HDD while having PT4 and Windows on SDD?

You would have the best performance if PostgreSQL was also on the SSD however there are other factors to consider with regards to performance such as how much RAM you have, your database size, what other programs are running e.t.c. Before you start reinstalling things I recommend that you enable logging, reproduce this issue and then send your log file to us in a Support Ticket so we can see what's going on and get further information with regards to your current setup.
