cant open pt4

Finished my session, shut the computer, opened it the next day and couldnt open pt4, it says it cannot connect to database...
Basically what I did before shutting down pc is disk defrag and ccleaner registry clean.
Not sure what to do and why it happened all of the sudden

Did you stop the PostgreSQL service (Start --> Programs --> PostgreSQL --> Stop Services) before starting the defrag and registry clean? Try rebooting your computer then go to "C:/Program Files/PostgreSQL/x.y/data" and if you see a "postmaster.pid" file there, delete it (not "postmaster.opts" which may be there too).

"x.y" is your PostgreSQL version so could be "8.4", "9.0", etc.

If you don't find a "PostgreSQL" at that location check these locations for it and do the same deleting I mention above:

C:\Program Files (x86)

C:\

If the postmaster.pid file is present and you were able to delete it reboot your computer once more and see if that resolves the problem.

Deleted postmaster.pid file in the directory, rebooted pc, but still have the same issue.

Regarding stoping service I didnt do anything and also I dont see the start/stop service in the directory

It is possible that the defrag/registry clean has changed something so please attach your last few PostgreSQL log files to a support ticket with a link to this thread and we'll investigate this further for you. In addition to the PostgreSQL logs please also attach a copy of the postgresql.conf file from your last screenshot.

Guys, fixed the issue.
I had to delete the postgresql.conf file and rename the old backup one to " postgresql.conf"
