Spin actually rake on chips 25 or 27

Postby aramalho » Mon Jan 16, 2017 12:26 pm

Hi there,

I'm thinking how many chips are actually going to the rake on spins when looking at PT4 graph!

Example: Spin is 95$ and 5$ rake, 5$/100$ = 5%, does that mean that 25 chips ( 5% 500 ) going to the rake?

However

Sspin is 95$ and 5$ rake, 5$ / 95$ = 5.26315 % does that mean that 26.3157895 chips are going to the rake?

The discussion is open, anyone knows the way we should at this in Poker tracker is important, because it can be a deviation from thousand of dollars a year.

That really comes down to personal preference - you can see that discussed more here and here.

What would be your choice?

option A
Say that the rake is 100/95 - 1 = 5.263%
Option B
say that the rake is 5/100 = 5%

lets see a very extreme example
the buyin is 80$, the rake is 160$, so u pay 240$ to participate
by option A it should be 240/80 - 1 = 200%
by option B it is 160/240 = 66.66...%
which one seems correct?:)
in this example considering 500 starting chips, by option A u have to win 1000 chips to be BE, option A 333.33...

which one makes sense for you? :)

Again that would come down to your own preference but I personally consider the rake % as option B.
