Error connecting to the default database

Postby Trajectoire » Sat Mar 18, 2017 12:39 pm

Hello,

I reinstall PT4 but when I run it I have this message:
Error connecting to the default database.
Please select one of the valid databases below or create a new one.
Note: It may take time for the database list to fully populate

What I must do?

Thanks

It depends on what you cleared when you reinstalled - it's possible that your PT4 config is looking for a database which doesn't exist. If you click to select a new database do you see your old database name in the list? If so, select it and that should connect.
If you re-formatted your computer and then reinstalled PT4 you won't have your old databases unless you have a Backup you restored from.
Can you tell us exactly what you did when reinstalled, and why you reinstalled?

Hello,

I uninstall PT4 cause I would clean up my PC.
After réinstall PT4 when I run it I have this first message:
Default Parameters Error
Unable to login to database (postgres). Reason: could not connect to server: Connection refused (0x0000274D/10061) Is the server running on host "???" and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 5432?
Then I select Configure Defaults button and the window Configure PostgreSQL Server open so I try to connect to PostgreSQL Server and I have this message:
Unable to Connect
Unable to connect to this database. Please check the configuration.
I click ok then cancel button I have this message:
Confirm Cancel
Are you sure you want to cancel? PokerTracker won't be able to operate without PostgreSQL installed and configured.
I click Yes then I have this message:
Warning
PokerTracker will have problems creating and restoring databases with incorrect default database parameters.
Would you like to proceed anyway?
I click Yes then I have this message:
Select Default Database
Error connecting to the default database.
Please select one of the valid databases below or create a new one.
Note: It may take time for the database list to fully populate.
I see Default/Active Pokertracker 4 Database but I cant select it.
When I try to create a new database I have this message:
PostgreSQL Database Error
Unable to create PostgreSQL database: PT4_2017_03_19_102903
Reason: Unable to login to database (template1). Reason: could not connect to server: Connection refused (0x0000274D/10061) Is the server running on host "???" and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 5432?
Then I must exit PT4.
I think there is a problem with PostgreSQL database but which one?

Best regards

Bruno

It depends what "clean up my PC" means, but it does look as if you have removed PostgreSQL, so you'll probably need to reinstall that. Guide

If you deleted the PostgreSQL folders then your databases will be gone too, so you'll need to restore from a backup if you have one, or create a new database and re-import your hands from the hand histories.
