QUESTION ABOUT ALLIN ADJUSTED

Postby daniguru » Tue Apr 23, 2019 4:44 pm

hi
could it be that allin adj is calculated wrong when not all the money (1bb left) was pushed in preflop by misklick?

i shoved allin preflop with TT fish called with QJo
even though i lost the hand allin adjusted was -0.42 cent....actual lost was -0.46 cent how could that be?
maybe because preflop i miscliked so that on the flop i had to shove my last 1 cent allin...was that the cause for allin adj not calculating correct?

OR IS THE CALCULATION CORRECT AND I INDEED SHOULD HAVE LOST -0.42 cent??

here is the handhistory many thanks :)

villian ($2.20)

HERO ($0.49)

*** HOLE CARDS ***
HERO: dealt [Ts Td]
villian: raises $0.04
HERO: raises $0.47

villian: calls $0.44

*** FLOP *** [4h Jh Jc]
HERO: raises all-in $0.01
villian: calls $0.01
*** TURN *** [4h Jh Jc] [6h]
*** RIVER *** [4h Jh Jc] [6h] [7c]
*** SUMMARY ***
Pot: $0.95 | Rake: $0.05 | BBJ: $0 |
Board: [4h Jh Jc 6h 7c]
Seat 2: villian won $0.95 (+$0.46) [Qs Jd] Three of a Kind, Jacks

Your equity is calculated on the street in which the all-in occurred and in this case that was on the flop when you were a severe underdog.

hope its ok to ask a last question...

a situation came up where i shoved pre AK and faced AA....i lost 0.80 cent allin adj was 0.70....i always thought allin adj is a good measurement to see if we ran bad....but if lets say i pretty often
ran with AK against KK AA how could then allin adj be a good measurement?

thanks a lot again

The all-in equity adjusted stat just tells you if you are running above or below expectation with your all-ins based on the equity of your hand vs your opponents hand. If, as per your example, you were always running into the top of your opponents range then the adjusted results could say that you are running above expectation if you win more than your fair share based on your equities in those hands but you would likely still be losing money and 'running bad' because villain is turning up with KK/AA more often than normal. There are also 'Avg All-In Equity' statistics which you can use to look at your overall equity for all-in hands and/or on specific streets.
