Old databases missing after restore

Postby SomeUser » Mon Jan 11, 2021 12:26 pm

Hi,

I wanted to move a database from computer A to computer B. For this I did:
1) Full Backup of the database on PC A (including config files)
2) Restore of that database on PC B (all options where checked except "verbose status output".

This worked but I have the problem, that the old databases on PC B are no longer visible under database management. I assume, that this is because I shouldn't have restored some of the cfg files? Is there an easy way to fix this. The databases on PC B are important to me.

Thank you for your help!

Pete

Here you are only talking about a database in the singular. When backing up by default only the current active database is marked so you would have to manually select the remaining databases before backing up if you wanted to backup multiple databases at the same time:

Did you enable all these database checkmarks when backing up?

Thank you for your replay.

I think there is a misunderstanding. I wanted to backup only one database from PC A. But I had already 2 other databases on PC B, when I restored. This 2 other data bases are gone now.

Thanks for clarifying. If you restored the config file from the PC A then that would overwrite the database settings on PC B but you can add those databases back to your configuration on PC B via 'Database -> Database Management -> New -> Browse Databases'.
