how to get today´s hands of a player alias in a file?

I try to create a program that should only work when I am actually playing poker, not just have tables open. I was wondering if there was a way to automatically generate a file that shows the number of hands a certain player (i.e. the alias of my screennames) played today in pokertracker or in pg admin. Alternatively, anything that basically monitors if hero is playing or not, f.e. a repeating query in pg admin that counts the number of hands hero played in the last 3 minutes and writes the result in a file.
