i recently dowloaded a hud profile to my computer. i succesfully installed it and i can see it in my list and i can click on it in the dropdown menu and it appears in the window. i can modify it and play around with it. but the problem is that when i click on apply it doesnt work and my hud profile always end up going back to default. what am i doing wrong?

Do you mean when you open the 'HUD Profile Editor' again? The 'Profile' dropdown is always loaded alphabetically and has nothing to do with what HUD Profile is "default" and/or used on the tables which you can set via the PT-icon while playing or via the 'Profile Select' tab in 'HUD -> Edit HUD Options':
