Unable to login to database

Hi support,

Im using a Macbook, i changed my timezone on my laptop, and then after opening PT4 it said i need to change my Postgre timezone, so i followed the instructions on

I restarted and when i opened PT4 i got the following message - attached screenshot.

I looked up some previous posts, do i have to reinstall PostgreSQL?

Will i lose the current database i have? Do i need to do something to save them?

What specific change did you make to your postgresql.conf file?

Error msg - Error SS

-On my laptop, from Canada Mountain Standard Time (MST) to Japan Standard Time (JST)

-i followed the instructions and searched "timezone" and changed two spots where it said
"timezone = Canada/Mountain" to "timezone = Japan"

see both screenshots, SS2, SS3

Try 'Asia/Tokyo' instead:

Hi,

I tried Asia/Tokyo, didn't work.

Just to test it out, i changed my laptop and the two spots back to what it was before, Canada/Mountain, and to my surprise it didn't work, got the same message.

Was there supposed to be the hashtag symbol (#) before the first
log_timezone or the second
timezone =

?

I tried both with # symbol, one with # and the other without, and both without, with the Canada/Mountain, restarting everytime i made the changes, but it didn't work.

I may have? pressed the spacebar or something while making the changes the first time when i was trying to figure it out, so maybe there is an extra space or something somewhere compared to what it was originally when it was working, not sure...

There shouldn't be any hashtag. Open a terminal 'Utilities' and in the terminal window copy/paste this:

sudo rm /Library/PostgreSQL/9.3/data/postmaster.pid

You want to delete 'postmaster.pid' so answer 'y' if the command finds it.

Next restart your computer and press/hold the 'Alt/Option' key while starting PokerTracker 4 to enable logging. 

If PokerTracker 4 is still not starting correctly attach these files to a Support Ticket:

--> /Users/{Mac Login}/Library/Application Support/PokerTracker 4/Logs/PokerTracker4.log

--> Your newest 3 or 4 PostgreSQL log files (look for 'Mac' in the guide): Guide: PostgreSQL log files

--> A compressed copy of your postgresql.conf file.

I got a "No such file or directory"

I restarted computer, opened PT4, same message.

i attached the requested files and created a support ticket.
