Unable to create database : Password authentication failed

Like in Subject I get this error when I start PT4,i am running on a Mac.
Can someone please help me to fix this? Thanks Image

Was PT4 working OK before, or did you just install?
It seems like you haven't entered the correct password - our default is "dbpass", but if you installed PostgreSQL manually, or it was installed by another application then you would need to enter the password which was created at that time.

Alternatively, you can remove the need for passwords as described here (that was written for Windows, but I think the same change should work on Mac - you'll need to follow these directions to edit config files though).

Good day, I just installed PT4 on a brand new laptop running windows 8.1 and got the following:

Unable to create PostgreSQL database: PT4 DB
Reason: Unable to login to database (template1). Reason: FATAL: password authentication failed for user "postgres"

Any suggestions?

Did you install PostgreSQL manually? If so try whatever password you may have used during the installation. If you use Holdem Manager, their default is "postgrespass" so feel free to try that, too.
