Disk Permissions Issue for New User Account

Postby MuslimGirl » Mon Jul 11, 2016 11:57 am

Hi

The main admin account on my macbook is messed up and I cannot enter it. So I created a new one. Although I have theoretical access to my pokertracker for application, whenever I try to open it I get the message "Pokertracker has detected a permissions problem. Would you like to repair?"

When I click repair, a moment or 2 passes and I get the message "Pckertracker has detected a permissions issue which prevents it from running. Please use disk utility to repair your disk permissions and run pockertracker again. If that fails please contact support....."

i run the disk repair but it finds no permissions problems. what should i do next?

thanks

Open Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal. Paste the following commands into the terminal one at a time and press enter. You will be prompted for your Mac password (the same one you use when installing software). Type it in and hit enter (you won't see *s, that's a security precaution). If after you hit enter it just shows the prompt again it completed successfully. After both of these commands have been run. re-run PT4 and everything should work:

sudo mkdir -p /Users/Shared/Library/Preferences

sudo chmod 777 /Users/Shared/Library/Preferences
