Downloaded PT4 update, now it won't open

So I'm pretty ticked off right now...

I was notified that there was a PT4 update for Mac OS, so I just downloaded it tonight. Now, when I try to run PT4, I get a "Permissions error." Despite following the instructions to repair this error, nothing is working.

Can someone please help?? Thank you!

Please action the following which should resolve the issue:

1. Restart your computer.

2. Open the terminal (Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal) and copy/paste this into the new window:

sudo mkdir -p /Users/Shared/Library/Preferences

You may need to enter your administrator password when you do this and for security purposes it may not show anything as you type it in.

3. Using the terminal again copy/paste this:

sudo chmod 777 /Users/Shared/Library/Preferences

4. Try starting PokerTracker 4 again.

Same for windows. I just download the update and when I click to open doesn't show-up.

Do you mean the installer doesn't run, or you've installed but then PT4 won't open?
Try downloading it again, and maybe with a different browser.

Thank you for the reply. The installer works perfect, but PT4 won't open.
After launching the icon if I open task manager shows that pt4 is running, but that's it! Doesn't load anything else.
I did what you said to download the update with a different browser, but still no go.
It was working just fine before the update. is it possible to restore the last version?

Please run PT4 with logging enabled by holding the Option key when you launch it, and let it run for a few minutes then attach the log file to a Support Ticket so that we can see what is going on. Tutorial: Reporting a problem

Still constantly running into random problems with PT4. It seems like every 3-4 days, when I launch PT4, it notifies me that my trial period is over. My trial was over a long time ago. I have to re-enter my confirmation code, then run through the full PT4 setup process. This is getting very frustrating and I hope someone can explain what might be going on.

In PokerTracker 4 click 'Configure -> Options', turn on the 'Logging Enabled' option and then when you have a problem report that to us in a Support Ticket with your log files:

Hello.

Perhaps I'm missing something (very good chance of this), but in PT4 for Mac OS, when I click "configure", I do not see "options" anywhere. I see preferences, site configuration, tournaments, and accounts configuration. The PT4 software does not look like it does in the tutorial link you sent me.
