NoteCaddy - any incompatibilities w/ PT3?

Postby rowhousepd » Thu Jul 15, 2010 12:07 am

Has anyone tested this new software called NoteCaddy? It sounds like an intriguing enough program, but before I used it I wanted to see if anyone knows of any major problems w/ PT3. It writes notes directly into your database, so I didn't want to run it and have my db messed up. Here's what they claim it does, taken directly from their site (http://notecaddy.com):
Have notes added to your PT3 or HEM database automatically
Customize the notes that get added with the easy to use scripting tool
Import from all of your databases with one click
Filtering ensures you only take notes on hands you consider relevant
Make table selection simple using automatic color coding
Color coding is fully customizable based on a large number of player stats

I'm a bit hesitant if it's not tested w/ PT yet. Thanks.

I haven't tested this personally.

disclosure: NoteCaddy is my software

There's a thread going on 2+2 for some weeks now.

There were some issues early on in the beta but now the bug reports have dropped down to practically none. I can tell you there's been hundreds of PT3 users that have used NoteCaddy and not one complaint of lost PT3 data.

I haven't tested this software either, but if you're worried about your database you can make a Backup of it before you install. I'd recommend making regular backups anyway - you never know when a hard disk is going to fail.

I've been contacted by the developer of NoteCaddy and will make sure everything is working properly - I should be able to get some preliminary testing done in the next couple of days. From my discussions with him, I expect good results though.

How are the testings going? Are there any issues with PT3 & NoteCaddy?

Both Kraada and I have been using it for a few weeks now, although it sounds like Kraada has done more with it than me. It seems to be working well, though.

Just to chime in: everything is going quite well and I in fact have NoteCaddy taking notes as I type this.

I'm about to review it for my website, is there anything anyone thinks I should add?
