Am I correct to assume this is a new computer your are installing PT4 on? If I recall correctly you already had PT4 installed on an older machine. Your new computer's Antivirus or Firewall may be getting in the way of PokerTracker 4's operations, please review this guide for instructions how to address this problem with your Antivirus or firewall: https://www.pokertracker.com/guides/PT4 ... tion-guide

yes I did check firewall and stuff.. I (tried to )installed pt4 on a brand new windows 8. There was nothing there from my old installs.. it was all formatted for the new install of win 8. So should be no old regs lines or crap. I had yet to install any secondary programs into win 8.. First things I installed was poker stars, my tweet deck and the poker tracker. :) so no office , no apps, no Skype nothing.

Are you using an administrator account on this new computer?
Try running PT4 as Administrator explicitly (right click > Run As Administrator).

Go to "Services" in Control Panel and see if PostgreSQL is in the list?
Is it started? If not, can you start it?

I can't get it to run period. The data base isn't installing so poker tracker won't start.

Clean install on a new computer. won't create the data base. I don't have a firewall.. is there a easy way to check or change the port for it?

There has been an error
