Party Poker ending local HH storage

Postby brassnuts » Thu Oct 01, 2015 12:07 pm

News is out that Party Poker will not be allowing hand histories to be stored locally. They will be viewable via their client only.

Any thoughts on this?

Is this basically the end of PT4 working on Party Poker unless they revert this policy?

FYP. :)

1. It's too early to tell without reading their revised terms of service.
2. We'll have an official response soon.

Just for info, trackers can't be stopped.
There will be a scraper that convert the data on the screen in a HH and then ,PT4 or any other tracker, will automatically populate the HUD from it

Bingo. And that is one of the many ridiculous things about these changes. Someone will create a party hand grabber and hands will import into PokerTracker. There is nothing that party can do about this and there is nothing that we can do about this. (See Bodog as an example)

I'm drafting the official statement as we speak and I suspect it'll be posted by Monday at the latest.

Sorry if I'm saying nonsenses, but I thought trackers didn't work in Bodog, in fact that site doesn't appear in your "Import Configuration" window... could you explain this point? It's posible for PT4 to show HUDs in sites which don't storage hands in our devices?

Can't wait to read that official statement :)

We are still awaiting final confirmation from them on a few details I believe before we publish anything official.

If you google a bit you'll find a Bodog/Bovada converter without any problem.
Regarding the HHs, well in theory you could read the poker client memory or screen scraping the table and obtain the same data as an HH provides.
Parse a HH is easier than read from the client memory for sure, that's why this is the main choice for the trackers developers.
