AFq and AF

Probably this isn't a new question, and probably i'm getting something very wrong, but anyway:

As i get it, total AFq is described as the number of times somebody raises or bets vs. the numer of aggression opportunities postflop; total AF is the ratio of (raises+bets)/calls (and could be named also "call factor"). so, by comparing these two numbers, coudn't I create "Call Frequency" and "Fold Frequency", like this: Call Frequency=(AFq* (1/AF)) and Fold Frequency=100-(Call Frequency+ AFq) ?

You could, or you could use the Fold to Bet/Call Bet/Fold to Raise/etc stats directly, which is essentially what you'd be recreating by doing this.

But like this i woudn't get a picture of the player's tendency to bet/raise, call or fold in general, or would i? because the described stats are all for certain streets, or even more special, like fold to bet vs. fold to raise, etc. What i'm looking for, is a general figure how often a person is passive (and calls) or cautious (and folds) on all streets postflop, exactly what AFq is measuring for aggression.

Then you can just use AFq. The lower the number is, the more likely they are to call or fold when they face a bet.

i know. but with the two stats "total call frequenzy" ( AFq* (1/AF) ) and "total fold frequency" ( 100-AFq+CFq ) i could distinguish the calling guys from the folding ones - up to a certain degree at least. Or am i getting something wrong? The idea is to get a picture on a wide basis (all streets postflop, all aggressive situations and how people react to them) that is of some significance even with not so many hands.

Alternately you could just define the stat directory. Your "Total Call Frequency" stat simplifies down:

AFq * 1/AF is equivalent to:
(Bet + Raise) / (Bet + Raise + Call + Fold) * Call / (Bet + Raise). This simplifies to:
Call / (Bet + Raise + Call + Fold).

So if you duplicate the AFq stat on the Configure Stats --> Stats tab (in the Holdem cash Player Statistics section), just change the numberator and the format tab and description this way it'll be simpler.

Similarly your fold frequency would just be fold / (bet + raise + call + fold).

Personally I just display Bet, Raise, Call and Fold percentages by street, and that gives me a pretty good idea at a glance what they do for the most part. But I can see why you might prefer this method.

Thank you very much - you're totally correct i guess. i'm new to the customized stats, and i just didn't think of creating the stat from scratch, and so ended up in this kind of from-back-to-front-approach. (In Germany we say "from the backside through the chest right into the eye"... :D)

The more you think about it, the more you'll realize how many interesting and useful options there are. I highly recommend it.

(Also, that sounds painful!)
