PT4 & Hold Em Manager 3 Databases

I've used PT4 for years and I'm considering purchasing Hold Em Manager 3 as a secondary tool to aid study away from the table. My PT databases are very large and I think HM3 storing data in the memory cache would be useful to me for situations when PT4 is just too slow.

I've read that both PT4 and HM3 use MySQL as a database but seen elsewhere that one database has to be converted to the other to be used. Would HM3 be able to use the same databases as PT4 or would it have to convert them to create it's own databases? If databases require converting, does this mean the SSD storage space I currently use for databases will double or is there a significant difference in file size between the two?

PokerTracker 4 does not use MySQL - it uses PostgreSQL.

Each program will need separate databases.

As far as I am aware Holdem Manager 3 will have a smaller database size but I don't know what the difference between them would be for you.
