How do I stop PT4 from hijacking DPI settings of Betfair?

Postby Thinker145 » Thu Apr 16, 2026 6:52 pm

I just got a new monitor that I am trying to use at 150% scaling. The problem is that Betfair desktop poker app looks really blurry when doing that. Upon investigation it is clear that PT4 hijacks the DPI settings of the Betfair app.

I can reset the settings and Betfair loads up just fine until the next time I load PT4. I even get a message "please restart your iPoker client to resolve issues with improper HUD operation".

Now interestingly if I ignore this message, I don't see any problem with the HUD. However, when I close the Betfair app after this, the settings would have changed for next startup.

PokerTracker 4 wouldn't change DPI settings on other applications. Try this:

Right-click on your Betfair shortcut (or the actual .exe file)
Select "Properties"
Go to the "Compatibility" tab
Click "Change high DPI settings"
Check "Override high DPI scaling behavior"
Select "Application" from the dropdown menu instead of "System"
Click OK and Apply

This should force Betfair to handle its own DPI scaling instead of using system scaling which should resolve the blurry display issue:

This is exactly what resolves the blur issue, but it only lasts for as long as I don't open PT4.

I recorded my screen to show this

OK thanks - I've checked and this behaviour is to ensure compatibility with the iPoker client. This can be overridden with a setting in your PokerTracker.cfg file however please note this may impact functionality of your poker client and/or PokerTracker 4 on iPoker. To prevent the change in DPI settings you can do this:

1. Start PokerTracker 4.

2. Select "File > Open User Data Folder"

3. Close PokerTracker 4.

4. In the window that opened go to the Config folder and open the "PokerTracker.cfg" file in Notepad.

5. Find the section labelled [Site.iPoker] and add a line in that section like this:

[Site.iPoker]
DPIOverride=N

6. Save the change and restart PokerTracker 4.

Before I do this, I want to ask if this is an easily reversible process or I would have to reinstall PT4 if I don't like what it ends up doing?

It's easily reversed. Just delete the line added to the PokerTracker.cfg file (or change the DPI option to 'Y' instead of 'N').
