upgrade probs - cannot open .exe file

Postby denleonard » Wed Oct 01, 2008 2:49 pm

Hi,
When trying to upgrade PT3 I get 3 files it claims it can't open. The first is something like C:\pokertracker\....etc.....\Pokerstars.exe (i think). then there are 2 other .dll files as well. By clicking 'ignore' the installation continues and the thing seems to work (although the problem of HORSE tourney hands being considered as cash 1/2$ hands continues). Is this important? Do you want me to post the accurate error messages - can't copy/paste them for some reason.

Ta
Den

PS - I notice one or two posters giving you grief - please ignore them I think PT is a great product, for what it's worth!

You need to make sure PT3 is not running when you install the update.
If you see this error after you have stopped PT3 you need to use Task Manager (ctrl-alt-del) -> Processes tab to End the pokertracker.exe process.
Then run the installer again.

What site are you playing at?
Do you have tournament hands in your database which were imported before Beta 18?
I think that this is what causes the problem.
Try creating a new database and re-import your hands - you shouldn't get this problem any more in Build 3.

Thanks very much. Sorted it all out now and learnt a bit more about how to use the program at the same time. I appreciate your prompt responses and help.
All the best
