PT4 missing "3Bet vs MP Open" & "3Bet vs EP Open"

Hello,

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I noticed Pokertracker4 has both "3Bet vs CO 2Bet" and "3Bet vs CO Open"
but no "3Bet vs MP Open" to complement "3Bet vs MP 2Bet" (and similarly with EP).

Has someone constructed these stats?

I read somewhere these stats where not included because the difference from the 2Bet case was considered
insignificant. In general, that is probably true, but some players will religiously 3Bet to isolate a EP/MP first in
raiser and having any prior limpers may alter that strategy to a call (or even a fold).

You could make that in the same way that the "vs X open" stats are made, should you wish, but I believe that you're right that they were omitted because of the lack of difference.
You can check that the first raise was an open by checking that the first character of the actors string is the same as the second character of the aggressors string, like:

substring(cash_hand_summary.str_aggressors_p from 2 for 1) = substring(cash_hand_summary.str_actors_p from 1 for 1)

Well, the current "vs X Open" stats are 3Bets from a single well-defined position, like the CO:

3Bet vs CO Open:
(cnt_p_3bet_vs_co_open / cnt_p_3bet_opp_vs_co_open) * 100

sum(if[cash_hand_player_statistics.flg_p_3bet and
cash_hand_summary.str_aggressors_p LIKE '81%' and
cash_hand_summary.str_actors_p LIKE '1%', 1, 0])

sum(if[cash_hand_player_statistics.flg_p_3bet_opp and
cash_hand_summary.str_aggressors_p LIKE '81%' and
cash_hand_summary.str_actors_p LIKE '1%', 1, 0])

I am not sure how to modify this to include all possible MP openings. The current
"3Bet vs MP 2Bet" is far more elaborate:

(cnt_p_3bet_vs_mp_2bet / cnt_p_3bet_opp_vs_mp_2bet) * 100

sum(if[char_length(cash_hand_summary.str_aggressors_p) >= 2 and
cash_hand_player_statistics.flg_p_3bet AND

That's just the numerator. The denominator is similarly ugly, and I am still learning to make
sense of all that.

Furthermore, I am not sure about cases where MP open raises and someone else cold calls before
the hero has opportunity to 3Bet. Ideally, I want to know how often a player 3Bets to ISOLATE
a MP (or EP) open raiser. I could restrict this stat to non-blind positions so that the attempt is
made to isolate with position.

Perhaps this stat should really be called "Isolate vs MP Open".

Any suggestions on how to proceed?

Start with the "vs MP 2bet" expressions - if you add the test I suggested to that it will ensure that the 2bet was an open, and the rest of the existing expression ensures that was from an MP player.

To rule out that type of situation include a test for not having an opportunity to make a squeeze raise, with:

NOT cash_hand_player_statistics.flg_p_squeeze_opp

Hey before i saw this i tried to solve it on my own and was unable to (and still havent figured it out).

I used the 3bet vs CO stat and changed it to try and get the MP and EP versions, can you tell me why the code i made doesnt work? Something has to be wrong but i honestly dont know what it it :P

Obviously it is because i am playing 6max and some positions stated there dont exist lol, i guess i can make the stat easilly for 6max only but wont work for full ring.

Right - positions 6 and 7 (in fact 4 to 7) don't exist when you're playing 6-max. It sounds like you've got it sorted, but for reference "EP" for 6-max is position 3, and this will only exist 6-handed (if you're 5-handed there is no position 3 *).

(* There will be a position 3 if the player who would have posted the small blind sat out to leave 5 other players.)
