• General Filter Use

Filters allow you to restrict which hands are used to generate the reports in PT3.
By applying a filter any hands which do not meet the specified criteria will not be shown.

Note: Some reports in PT3 are based on overall Session results rather than individual hands (Player Summary, Sessions by Time/Table, Winnings) and these reports are not affected by filters which only remove specific hands.
These reports will only be filtered if the
whole session is filtered out - i.e. if no hands in the session meet the criteria. If any hands in a session match the criteria then these reports will show stats from the whole session.
Hand-based reports (the rest: Player Statistics, Details, Hands, Positions, ...) will only show stats from hands which meet the filter criteria.

To open the filters window, click the Filters button.

This will open the Filters window:

Here you can add your filters and apply them to the reports, as well as storing them for future use (see below).

The tabs along the top of the Filter window split filters into logical groups.

When you find the filter you want to apply you click to add a tick to the checkbox to the left of the filter name (in most cases anyway - there are a few filters like those on the General tab which are applied differently).

You can add several filters at once by checking multiple options - see below for more information.

Once you have chosen and enabled the filters you want to use you need to apply them.
There are a few ways to do this.

    • If you click the Add Selected to Filters button (bottom left) then the selected filters will be added to the list on the right but not applied to the reports.
    • If you click Apply (bottom centre) then the filters will be added to the list and applied to the reports and the filters window will remain open.
    • If you click OK (bottom centre) then the filters will be added to the list and applied to the reports and the filters window will close.

Once your filters have been applied to the reports you will see them listed above the report.
You can remove all applied filters by clicking the Clear button (next to the Filters button) - alternatively you can add, remove or combine individual filters in the Filters window (see below for more information).

  • Combining Multiple Filters

As well as applying simple filters you can combine filters in many ways.

As an example, let's look at combining flop, turn and river bet filters in some different ways.

    • Simple Combinations

The bet filters are on the Actions tab.

If you select the Actions > Flop tab and enable the Bet filter, then in turn click the Turn and River tabs and enable the Bet option on both of those too and then click the Add Selected To Filters button the three filters will be applied together using AND, so that only hands where the player bet the flop, turn and river will be shown. If instead you check each Bet filter individually and click Add Selected To Filters after each one the filters will be shown differently, but will still be applied using AND.

Both of these methods of adding multiple filters can be used when adding filters from different main tabs.

Tip! Most filters will be applied logically so if you add multiple site filters, for instance, they will be applied using OR (a hand can't be played at both Party and PokerStars - a "Party AND PokerStars" filter will never return any hands), but some may not be applied as you expect so you should check how they have been grouped.

    • Ungrouping and re-combining

Instead of seeing only those hands where you bet all postflop streets (flop AND turn AND river) you might want to see hands where you bet at least one of these.

Starting with the first set of filters from above..

..we first need to ungroup the filters.

Select the filters you want to separate and click the Ungroup button.

This will split one of the filters out. You then need to select and ungroup the remaining pair.

Now that you have three individual filters select them all (by dragging or with shift-click or control-click) and click the 'OR' Selected button.

    • Removing Filters

If you want to remove a filter (or group of filters) select it (or them) and click the Remove button.

    • More Complex Combinations

You can also combine filters in other ways by combining with different operators and in different orders.

Let's say you want to see hands where you bet on the river after betting either the flop or turn.
Starting with the three individual filters; select 'Any Flop Bet' and 'Any Turn Bet' and click 'OR' Selected, then select both lines and click 'AND' Selected.

Alternatively, let's say you want to see hands where you didn't bet the flop and then bet either the turn or river.
Again starting with the three individual filters; select 'Any Flop Bet' and click 'NOT' Selected, then select 'Any Turn Bet' and 'Any River Bet' and click 'OR' Selected. Finally, select both lines and click 'AND' Selected.

      • You wouldn't actually need the final step in either of these last two examples as the two separate lines would be applied with AND anyway.
      • The filter combination in the first example would include hands where you bet the flop and turn as well as the river. If you want to see hands where you bet only one of the flop or turn and then bet the river you would need:
((Any Flop Bet AND NOT Any Turn Bet) OR (Any Turn Bet AND NOT Any Flop Bet)) AND Any River Bet
Likewise in the second example hands where you bet the turn and river would be included.
  • Saving and Loading named filter sets

If you have a set of filters that you want to save for future use you can give it a name by filling in the Description field and then click the Save Filter button.

To load a previous saved filter select it from the Existing drop down list.

If you select Replace then the existing filter will be removed and the new filter used on it's own.
If you select Add then the existing filter will remain in place and the new filter applied as well.

If you have an old filter which you no longer use and you want to get rid of it, first load it by selecting it from the Existing dropdown list, then click the Delete Filter button.
